SLRA stands for the Sri Lanka Retailers’ Association, the country’s apex body representing the organized retail sector.

SLRA was founded in 2015 and incorporated as a Company Limited by Guarantee in June 2016.

To serve as a unified voice for the retail industry, promote collaboration, drive innovation, and advocate for retail-friendly policies in Sri Lanka.

SLRA is governed by a leadership team comprising senior executives from leading retail companies across Sri Lanka’s major sectors.

SLRA currently represents nine major retail sectors including FMCG, Fashion & Jewelry, E-Commerce, Healthcare, Entertainment, Housing, Mobility, Footwear & Accessories, and Consumer Durables.

Membership

Any business, organization, or individual operating within or connected to the retail sector in Sri Lanka may apply.

SLRA offers Corporate Full Membership (Large & SME), Sub-Membership, Associate B2B Membership, and Individual Membership.

Fees vary by category. For example, Corporate Full (Large): Rs. 55,000 + 45,000 annually, SME: Rs. 50,000 + 25,000 annually, Individual: Rs. 10,000 + 5,000 annually.

You can apply online via the SLRA website by selecting your membership type, completing the application form, and making the payment.

Yes, membership upgrades or changes are allowed upon request and SLRA review.

Yes, all approved members receive an official SLRA Membership Certificate and digital credentials.

Membership is valid for one year and is renewable annually.

Members enjoy policy advocacy, market research, training programs, networking events, discounted event access, business matchmaking, and trade links.

Yes, members receive regular updates via newsletters, market reports, and statistical bulletins.

Yes, members may receive exposure through member directories, events, sponsorships, and SLRA communications.

Yes, through SLRA Academy, which offers leadership, service, and operational training.

Yes, SLRA provides training grants and organizes the Sri Lanka Retail Awards.
